Johann Strauss I

Johann Strauss I (Vater) was an Austrian composer and conductor, who allowed the international establishment of the waltz genre by conducting numerous concerts throughout Europe. With more than 150 waltzes, polkas and marches, he is- as his son Johann Strauss II- one of the most important composers of the 19th century.
