In 2010, the unique Baroque vault in the Mozart House Vienna was used as an opportunity to build an extraordinary and multi-functional venue. Due to the excellent acoustics of the room ("Bösendorfer Hall") it is regularly used for classical chamber music concerts and CD recordings.
History of the Mozarthaus - Mozart's residence as origin of Figaro's Marriage
The story of the Mozarthaus dates back to the 17th century, which owes its name due to the residence of Mozart between 1784-1787. During this time, the composer wrote- among many other works- his famous opera "The Marriage of Figaro". The apartment is the only one of Mozart's apartments in Vienna, which has been preserved until today.
On the occasion of his 250th birthday, the house was completely modernized in the "Mozart Year" 2006. Thanks to its complete reconstruction visitors today get a comprehensive insight into the life and work of the artist, which is illustrated by historical exhibits.
